Recently reminded that I love being behind the camera, versus in front of the camera. At the beginning of April, I was sat in front of the camera photographed and interviewed as part of a project a Denver-based company is spearheading about local business owners. While I do really enjoy sharing my thought, insight, advice - on camera - and the whole creative process involved, it’s a really different feeling to the more inspirational childlike flow I get into when photographing models (like those pictured there to the right post-shoot in San Miguel de Allende) or more spontaneously with street photography. Looking forward to being back in Santa Fe in June, to realize a long-held dream of shooting iconic western images & portraiture. | Homework: dig into your creative outlet.

For us travelers, we can’t help but to seek the new, the undiscovered-to-us places. Many of us also crave the familiarity of returning year after year or even throughout a lifetime to those places that have captured our hearts. There’s something super special, comforting, ease. You know it, it knows you. One of those places for quite a few of you is Rosewood Miramar Beach in Montecito/Santa Barbara. I describe it as East Coast meets West Coast, that mashup. It’s not an elaborate or complex trip but it is - returning to a place you know & love - very notable in its own right. California clients with two young children will be returning this month, their preferred rooms & favorite tables in place. | Pro Tip: be sure to have dinner at nearby San Ysidro Ranch’s restaurant al fresco.
