Guatemala will always hold a special place in my heart. During the height of the pandemic, I spent about 6 weeks between Antigua (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and Lake Atitlán, studying yoga and creating beautiful photographs. It was a profound time with beautiful people, culture, and land. I really enjoy sending travelers to this Central American country. Earlier this month I had Boulder-based clients there on a quick anniversary trip, just 5 nights in total, split between Casa Polopo on Lake Atitlán and Hotel San Rafael in Antigua. I’m always keen to include plenty of time at rest and leisure, and even with such a quick trip we were able to create some rich experiences for them like lakeshore kayaking, hiking, cultural & artistic experiences, and incredible dining. Pro Tip | traveling Guatemala now is what Costa Rica was 25 years ago.
