What I’ve Discovered That I Love
Many of you know my affinity for hobbies and passions outside of running this travel agency. I do think it’s important for adults to play, especially those of us who have demanding jobs. I’ve long studied yoga asana (the physical movement) and yoga philosophy (the why behind the movement). As naturally happens, open doors lead to other open doors when one is pursuing genuine curiosity, and I’ve been drawn to learning about how sound and vibration can calm the nervous system. I’m currently enrolled in a Level I sound healing certification through May of this year, predominantly using Himalayan Bowls but also picking up other healing instruments that belong to my music teacher such as chimes, shakers, drums, and gongs, to see how they feel in my hands, too. Your reminder to make time to play and to never stop learning.

Unique Experience & Travel Inspiration

Last month when I sent this Field Guide out to you all, the link that was overwhelmingly clicked upon was a link that belonged to a little hotel in the middle of nowhere Iceland. Which I found telling. So, I decided to expand a bit on that 9-Day trip that a Chicago family is departing on this week, if helpful to anyone reading who may be interested in similar. 3NTs will be spent based in Reykjavik at the EDITION hotel, some time at leisure there and also time late into the evening chasing the Northern Lights with their local expert guide. They’ll then move inland for 3NTs to that little hotel you all were so interested in! It’s called Torfhus Retreat, from which they can easily explore Western Iceland & the South Shore, national parks, craters, geysers, lagoons, experiencing a lot of the island nation’s wild beauty. Afterward, they’ll end the trip at the Retreat Hotel at the Blue Lagoon for 2NTs. Approx cost $50k USD (before flights), for a family of 4 traveling in the month of March. Iceland, in case you were wondering, is absolutely a year-round destination.

A Notable upcoming Client Trip
Year over year it never ceases to amaze me how much you all love and keep returning to Hawaii … to Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Lanai, and Kona. Each island has its own personality, logistics, landscape, uniqueness, pricing. I can’t truly pick a favorite, though I am pretty partial to Kauai (shhhh!)! But it all comes down to what you’re looking for, who you’re traveling with, the time of year, a comfortable price point, and so on. This month, my agency has assisted two families in making their travels to Hawaii feel just complete enough and I say that because I think it’s more important than ever to be sure to not overschedule our vacations. Vacation can be a time to try new things, but also a time to just live and let the days be what they may be, shaped by how and when you naturally wake, who you meet along the journey, and so on. This month clients will be doing just this while staying on the Big Island of Hawaii at The Four Seasons Hualalai & Rosewood Kona Village.
