What I’ve re-Discovered That I Love

Last week I was back home in South Louisiana visiting friends & family, and attending a biannual advisory board meeting at my alma mater The University of Louisiana-Lafayette, and popped in for an obligatory Friday afternoon feast of tinned fish, pickled veggies, perfectly selected cheeses, sourdough, local “Barataria beauties” oysters, and colossal chocolate chip cookies at Wild Child downtown Lafayette…

Spring Travel Inspiration

April was filled with many of you exploring Hawaii, Mexico, Seoul, Montecito, Beverly Hills, Santa Fe, Morocco, and a departure on the very last day of the month to Switzerland for a slow, easy honeymoon through small towns and on idyllic lakes.

Next month in May kicks off your summer travels … seeing you head to Bora Bora, the BVIs, Italy, a ranch in Montana, Sicily, Vancouver, Alaska, New Orleans, Santa Fe, and another departure on the very last day of the month to Japan for a family of five’s culinary and cultural immersion through Tokyo, Kyoto, & Kanazawa.

A Notable Client Trip

Seven days is actually a good bit of time; we seem to forget just how beautiful some places can be with a weeks’ time. Like Morocco … a piece of Morocco. I’m partial to Marrakech, and the beauty of it is that it’s close to the mountains & desert … making a city + desert experience completely feasible when one is short on time but would still like a rich experience. 3NTs in Marrakech at La Sultana -> 3NTs near the edge of the Moroccan Desert at the incomparable Dar Ahlam -> 1NT back in Marrakech to make that early morning flight easier / one last gorgeous meal while staying at the exquisite Oberoi. Chef’s kiss of a trip that clients are flying home from as I type, where I arranged all of their accommodations to match their style, private logistics, and purposefully went very light on arranging activities in advance, to better allow room for spontaneity.
